Wildfire/Smoke Policy!

umbrella Wildfire/SmokePolicy! Over the next few days smoke from wildfires in Central, Eastern Washington, and Canada is expected to blow into the Puget Sound area. WPL has issued a smoke advisory and provided clubs with the official WPL Smoke Policy. What you need to know: Air Quality above 150 games are cancelled and must be rescheduled - home team makes the decision using AIRNOW website Each team is responsible for monitoring air quality before and during their matches. Due to the unpredictable nature of fire and smoke, air quality can deteriorate or improve rapidly. When air quality index number goes above 150, the match must be suspended to preserve the health and safety of our players. We recommend that our families use website to monitor conditions. This is the site to use!!&app=io.ox/mail&folder=default0/INBOX From Don Sando, Renton Field scheduler: As for Southlake, we will use guidance similar to the WPL with an AQI of 150 as the threshold for canceling games. WPL league for AQI: *All games are canceled if the AQI is 150 or higher at the location in which the match is being played. *If the AQI is between 131 and 150, teams can choose to play or not. *If the AQI is between 101 and 130, games will proceed as normal and please allow water breaks *If the AQI is below 101 please proceed in a normal manner.
